Summer Day Camp at the YMCA of Youngstown

When school is out for the summer, the YMCA has all the activities you’ll need to keep your child engaged, entertained, and combat summer learning loss while you work or go about your duties. Summer Day Camps and Off School days offer swimming, crafts, gym games, speakers, and much more!

Day camp at the Y is led by experienced staff and offers nearly all the benefits of overnight camp – new outdoor experiences, skill-building and lasting friendships – in rural, urban and suburban settings, while allowing campers to return home each afternoon. We believe that the camp experience is transformational. YMCA camp gives kids the chance to make new friends, learn new skills and interact with nature. Our Summer Day Camp programs offer swim lessons, cooking classes, physical activities, arts and humanities, field trips, summer learning loss prevention, reading and writing help, and so much more!

Summer Day Camp is designed for ages 6-13 and is held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. We offer before and after care for a small fee for early drop-offs (7:00 – 9:00 am) and late pick-ups (4:00 – 6:00 pm).

In order to maintain an efficient and organized atmosphere, please note that regular registration ends at the scheduled closing time of your applicable YMCA branch the Friday before the camp week. Please be aware that a LATE FEE of $20 is charged if you wait to register until after Friday night. ONLINE registration ENDS Friday night, weekend registration must be done at the Y (any applicable LATE FEES will be included).


Registration Fee: 
$30 per child (no financial assistance available for this) must be paid in full and turned in with a registration packet COMPLETED IN FULL before they can register for weeks of camp (non-refundable). *Online registration doesn’t allow additional child discount, must register in person at service desk to get additional child discount or wait for refund.

Weekly Camp Fee:
Members $160-$185, Non-members $190-$215 depending on the week. This includes the weekly care cost, cooking fees, trip fees, and transportation. Note: Weekly fees hold a spot at our camp for your child(ren) for the week. There are no refunds for days not attended throughout the week.

Extended Hours for a Week:
$25 (early drop off 7:00 am – 9:00 am, late pickup 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm)

Late Fee:
$20 late fee per child if registration does not take place by the Friday before each week

Camp Open House

Bring your camper(s) to meet our team, take a tour of the facility and have your questions answered. Register for one of the evenings. Both are held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Counselor Apprentice Program

Counselor Apprentice Fee:
$100 for the summer. Registration packet required with payment. Fee must be paid in full to attend summer camp.

*The $100 fee is due by June 3rd along with the camper registration packet.
*Only CAs who are enrolled in the program and have paid their fee are eligible to register for the weekly trip fees.*

Meeting 1: May 16, 5:00 – 8:00 pm
Meeting 2: June 3, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Meetings are required to participate as a CA

Must pay weekly trip fees to attend field trips.

Registration is a two-step process. First, pay the Registration Fee corresponding to the Y Location your child will be attending. Second, register and pay for the weeks your child will be attending. Weekly registration is limited, and that they have until the Friday before each week at the latest to register. The sooner the better. 

Step 1 Registration Fee must be paid and all required paperwork completed in full and turned in at the service desk

STOP! If you have not paid the registration fee and turned in your packet, you can not register for weeks of camp

Step 2 Once your registration fee and packet have been turned in, Register your camper for the appropriate weeks of camp

Step 3 Enjoy your summer!
