Armstrong $30,000 Grant Supports the Davis Family YMCA, Providing Funding for Youth Memberships

The Davis Family YMCA has received a $30,000 grant from Armstrong.  The funds will be used to provide membership and character-building program opportunities to help youth reach their full potential.

The Davis Family YMCA wants to thank Armstrong for this generous donation during these extremely challenging times.  Our ability to raise funds over the past year has been greatly reduced by the pandemic, so all gifts now matter more than ever.  This is the fourth year Armstrong has provided significant support to benefit the youth we serve.  Armstrong’s support of the local community is truly appreciated and will make a real difference here in Youngstown and all of Mahoning County.

At the Y, children and teens learn positive Christian values with character-building opportunities to explore their unique interests and talents. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow. Tom Grantonic, the Executive Director of the Davis Family YMCA, said “we are committed to youth development and our mission to make YMCA memberships and programs available to all.  Armstrong has joined us and taken a lead in this effort with a significant level of support year after year. We have been truly blessed.”

Camp Fitch YMCA Polar Bear Plunge

Cost should never be the reason a child cannot attend Camp Fitch YMCA. To turn that mission into reality, Camp Fitch has hosted their annual Polar Bear Plunge for the last 15 years! Staff, alumni, campers, and anyone else who wants to join the cause jump into the icy waters of Lake Erie with the same purpose: to give the life-changing opportunity of camp to kids who would otherwise be unable to afford. All are welcome to join the fun (without any pressure to jump in Lake Erie)! We will have food, games, and raffles for everyone to participate in.

Davis Family YMCA Golf Outing

The Davis Family YMCA is committed to strengthening the foundations of our community. For 13 years we have hosted the annual golf outing, raising funds to ensure that YMCA programs and membership opportunities are accessible for all, regardless of financial means. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or trying it for the first time, this event is a hole-in-one for fun, fellowship, and community impact! Swing by for a day of golf, great company, and the chance to support the charitable work of the YMCA of Youngstown.

Central YMCA Gala

Join us for the First Annual Central Gala, where we’ll come together to celebrate the impact we’re making in our community. The theme for this year’s event, A Better Future Starts with You, will highlight the YMCA’s ongoing mission to strengthen our community through programs that promote healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility. The event will take place on September 25, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Maronite Center. Please wear your semi-formal evening attire that reflects the elegance of the occasion and the spirit of connection we nurture at the Y. This is a chance to make a lasting difference while enjoying an evening filled with hope, impact, and inspiration. We look forward to sharing this experience with you!
