Do Not Conform (Nick Phillips, Metro)

Romans 12:2: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” 

In today’s fast-paced world, the pressure to conform to societal norms can be overwhelming. We often find ourselves pulled in various directions, trying to fit into molds that don’t reflect who we truly are. Romans 12:2 reminds us of a powerful truth: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world,but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” This verse invites us to resist the urge to blend in and instead pursue a life of genuine transformation. 

The call to not conform begins with our thoughts. Our minds are battlegrounds where the enemy seeks to plant seeds of doubt, fear, and distraction. However, when we actively engage in renewing our minds through prayer, Scripture, and intentional reflection, we allow God to reshape our perspectives. This renewal enables us to see ourselves and our circumstances through the lens of His truth and love. 

As we undergo this transformation, we cultivate the ability to discern God’s will—what is good, pleasing, and perfect. This clarity empowers us to make choices that honor Him and impact those around us positively. By embodying this renewed mindset, we become lights in a world often clouded by confusion and despair. Let us commit to this journey of transformation, embracing the profound change God desires for us, and inviting others to join us in reflecting His love and purpose in every aspect of our lives.

Camp Fitch YMCA Polar Bear Plunge

Cost should never be the reason a child cannot attend Camp Fitch YMCA. To turn that mission into reality, Camp Fitch has hosted their annual Polar Bear Plunge for the last 15 years! Staff, alumni, campers, and anyone else who wants to join the cause jump into the icy waters of Lake Erie with the same purpose: to give the life-changing opportunity of camp to kids who would otherwise be unable to afford. All are welcome to join the fun (without any pressure to jump in Lake Erie)! We will have food, games, and raffles for everyone to participate in.

Davis Family YMCA Golf Outing

The Davis Family YMCA is committed to strengthening the foundations of our community. For 13 years we have hosted the annual golf outing, raising funds to ensure that YMCA programs and membership opportunities are accessible for all, regardless of financial means. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or trying it for the first time, this event is a hole-in-one for fun, fellowship, and community impact! Swing by for a day of golf, great company, and the chance to support the charitable work of the YMCA of Youngstown.

Central YMCA Gala

Join us for the First Annual Central Gala, where we’ll come together to celebrate the impact we’re making in our community. The theme for this year’s event, A Better Future Starts with You, will highlight the YMCA’s ongoing mission to strengthen our community through programs that promote healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility. The event will take place on September 25, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Maronite Center. Please wear your semi-formal evening attire that reflects the elegance of the occasion and the spirit of connection we nurture at the Y. This is a chance to make a lasting difference while enjoying an evening filled with hope, impact, and inspiration. We look forward to sharing this experience with you!
