SCHOLASTIC SUPPORT PROGRAM:
The Scholastic Support Program is designed for K–8 students to participate in their online school classes. Each classroom is staffed by YMCA Program Staff and tutors who are trained to assist your child with their remote learning and schoolwork.
Learning spaces are designed to comply with state and local guidelines for safety and social distancing. Small classes of students will be grouped in quiet rooms for study and remote learning time. Each group has a 9:1 student to staff ratio, in compliance with government guidelines. When online school/remote learning is completed, students will have time for homework, or structured, age-appropriate, academic activities, socially distant physical activities, and swimming!
Wi-Fi is provided to support video chats, streaming media and other online school demands. Each student should bring a device, headphones and appropriate school supplies. Please make sure your child knows how to log in to their school’s website and learning platforms, and how to operate their devices and software, or make sure we have instructions to help. Students should pack a water bottle and lunch. Please dress comfortably.
OH WOW! STEM SUPPORT
OH WOW! graciously provided our Central YMCA of Youngstown with STEM Science Activity Kits, for our Scholastic Support Program participants bringing entertainment, education, and a lot of fun to our youth. In addition to the Activity Kits, the OH WOW! team delivers a great virtual learning experience that our kids absolutely love!! Through the OH WOW! program, our youth engage in several STEM-related projects and activities that stimulate their minds and help prepare them for their future.!

HEALTH AND SAFETY:
The safety of your children and our staff is top priority. We have set up our classrooms per health and safety guidelines from state and local officials. All staff and children will have their temperatures taken upon entry to our facility, have their belongings sanitized, and also apply hand sanitizer before they enter the program area. Children will be required to wear face masks. We will notify all parents/guardians if we believe anyone has been exposed to/contracted coronavirus.
FLEXIBILITY:
Parents can register for the days of programming they need. Daily and weekly registrations will be available. Capacities are limited:18 students at the Davis Y and 36 students at the Central Y.
REGISTRATION:

COST:
• Daily: $30 member / $35 non-member
• Weekly: $140 member / $165 non-member
• One-time $30 registration fee
• Registrations must be completed by the Friday before each week.
• Weekend registrations for the coming week will incur a $15 late fee
• Financial Assistance Available – visit YMCAyo.org or pickup the form at either location

Please Note: All forms must be competed and turned in PRIOR TO Registration.
The Davis Family YMCA can now accept families who use Jobs and Family Services. To use this for the Scholastic Support Program, families need to apply for child care through JFS. Please list “Davis Family YMCA” license number 106577, as your child care provider. Once the YMCA and the family receives a letter from JFS stating approval and what the copay is, the YMCA will be able to accommodate the copay.
