Boardman, OH (WKBN) – YMCA of Youngstown’s Art Show (February, 2)
The community gathered on Sunday for a new art show in Boardman. The PostScript Art Show and sale opened for its first show at the Davis Family YMCA at the McClurg road facility. Seventy pieces of art were submitted by 38 area artists for the juried show.
Arts and humanities coordinator Suzanne Gray says an additional 30 pieces the size of postcards and eight larger pieces of original art were donated to raise money for the YMCA’s ARTreach program.
She says once the show is over, the artists will come pick up their artwork.
“When the show ends, the artists come and pick up their art, and they’re usually really happy to do it because they will enter that art into another art show. Youngstown has so many wonderful venues for showing our art,” Gray said. “If an artist sells their art from this show, the Y keeps 25% commission that goes to our ARTreach program, which provides art classes and supplies to underserved people in the community.”
