Youngstown, Oh – Youngstown Foundation approves $983,000 in grants including $200,000 for the downtown YMCA (Tuesday, January 28th)
The Youngstown Foundation has announced over $983,000 in grants to several Valley organizations including $200,000 for improvements to the downtown Youngstown YMCA>
According to the press release, the Foundation announced $938,250 in grants for 19 different organizations. The largest of these grants is $200,000 for the downtown Youngstown YMCA to support free memberships for local youth, as well as kitchen improvements.
According to the release, $120,000 will go towards annual memberships for students of the Youngstown City School District (YCSD), and the rest will support the kitchen improvements. Those improvements include the expansion and modernization of the kitchen in order to prepare and serve meals to youth in organization’s programs, as well as salary support for a new youth program director to oversee childcare and other youth services.
